Buckle up, and let’s hit the bumpy roads of Kuta, Bali, on a wild ride through Marlin Studios – where tattoos and good times flow in equal measure. This video isn’t just a peek at a tattoo refresh; it’s a front-row seat to the chuckles, winces, cold beers, and real feels of getting inked in paradise.
Equipped with my dependable Canon 5D MK II and the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM prime lens—a favourite of mine for low-light conditions and close-up shots—I encapsulated all the vibrant details and serene intervals, ensuring you experience that warm, “ahh, I’m right here” sensation. Captured entirely handheld, without a motion stabiliser, for an extra layer of authenticity. Whether offering a private view of ink bottles, a detailed observation of the needle, or a tempting fridge brimming with post-ink refreshments, everything is gently enveloped by soft, dreamy backgrounds. This aesthetic is achieved by the 50mm lens, which, thanks to its wide f/1.8 aperture, provides a beautifully blurry background, enriching the depth and calming vibe throughout.
The somewhat cheesy, wannabe-rock soundtrack? That’s a playful, synth-only ‘rock’ piece, conjured up light-heartedly as a delightful side project for this video. It’s light, slightly cheeky, and reflects the lively hum resonating from the studio walls.
So, make yourself comfortable and amble through a realm where every frame captures the laid-back tattoo charm of Bali. It’s a bit of fun, a dash of spirit, and a whole adventure of ink, all bundled into one.
