On a crisp Saturday morning, I made my way to CrossFit Play, armed with my Canon 5DMKii and a selection of lenses, eager to capture moments of sweat, strength, and unyielding spirit.

The goal was straightforward: capture genuine moments from participants and trainers of various age groups and genders. The essence of the session, from the determination of sweaty faces to the strength exhibited by both young and old participants, was my primary focus.

After filming, I managed all post-production tasks. This included editing with Adobe After Effects, enhancing colours, adding supers (on-screen text) effects, and incorporating lens flares using LensFlare Pro. I also crafted a unique soundtrack for the video using various VST plugins in Studio One. For brand consistency, I incorporated a 3D ‘play’ tunnel animation at the end, reflecting CrossFit Play’s branding. Throughout the video, I integrated moments where a heart shape transitions into the play button, reinforcing the gym’s visual theme.

From the footage, I produced a 1-minute promo video tailored for social media, along with 15-second and 30-second versions for diverse channels.

Every bead of sweat, every triumphant lift, and every beat of the crafted soundtrack was a testament to a day well spent. Here’s to capturing more such inspiring moments, one frame at a time.
